I know there are some creative professionals on the list, so I thought
I'd share something I've been using for the last few months. It's a
stock photography website called iStockphoto (www.istockphoto.com). The
thing I like about them is that the pricing is much better and simpler
than the other sites I've tried. Typical high-resolution photos cost no
more than $3-5 for a fairly liberal no-hassle license, and the most I've
ever seen any go for is $10. Lots of editable vector images are there
as well, usually in Illustrator format. The search is also extremely
well done, allowing one to search by color and copy area. Quality of
the works is extremely good too; there's some amateurish stuff for sure
but I've never failed to find an appropriate image for what I needed.
They have a referral program, but I'm not the type to do that sort of
thing...if you just really feel the need e-mail me for the link and we
can split the referral or something.
