Columbia's relative inaccessibility is pretty spectacular, yes. And
it's really unclear why it has to be this bad.
They do have a couple of shuttle services, right? The nice thing is that
you have two airports to choose from. The bad thing is that they are 115
or 153 miles away! Combine choice of airport with shuttle service and it
isn't all that bad. I'm sure there are many places in the US where it is
worse. Minneapolis is great -- about 15 minutes to the airport from my
home -- but I don't really have a choice of airports and I almost always
fly Northwest. That's good for FF miles but competition is low.
Another good thing about Columbia: It's right on I-70. You could do a
lot worse with that too.
