It's nice to see this type of service getting offered again. The last time I had a number like this was probably back around 2001 or earlier. But IIRC that free service made you enter a PIN # after a phone number that was shared, and you had to pay to get your very own number. This service even has local numbers available, a pleasant surprise. Hope this isn't an extended bait-n-switch that NetZero is trying to pull, free for now but moving to a paying service in the near future.

The only thing I would change is that they still slip in a "privatephone dot com" operator mention after a caller hears your personal greeting. Thus a caller knows you are using a service and they're not getting your personal cell phone vmail, for example.
