Mr Carter appears to be considerably more published in the area of climatology than you.

Here's some more on Bob Carter:

He is not a professor but an "Adjunct Professorial Research Fellow":

He is a member of the Institute of Public Affairs, "a right-wing, corporate funded think tank based in Melbourne," Australia:

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Institute_of_Public_Affairs

He is not an environmental scientist or a climatologist, but he is, according to the very page Rick sent to us "a prominent research geologist with a personal interest in the issue of climate change.":

His university does not maintain a web page for him, probably because of his adjunct affiliation. It is hard to find much information about him but you can see his brief CV here:

Based on some of the facts just presented, my best guess is that he is paid primarily by the energy industry to publicly criticize scientific reports on global warming.

Here are some articles about Bob Carter and others like him written by a computer scientist who has been following the global warming controversy:

http://scienceblogs.com/deltoid/2006/05/you_too_can_be_a_leading_clima.php
http://timlambert.org/category/science/bobcarter/

Interesting. I especially like the graphics in the first of those three pages.

The conclusion is that most, if not all, prominent "skeptics" about human influence in global warming are being paid by the energy industry to promote their ideas.
