It's a pretty easy intro book, if you can remember your calculus

Well, I get embarassed sometimes when I realize I am not as fleet with
this stuff as I should be. :-)
Well, I'll bet I was right about Stephen though!!
One thing I found is that in math stat, you do need calculus, but there
isn't really much that you have to do to get by. Derivatives are always
easy, partial derivatives are not any harder. Integration by parts is
probably the hardest thing I found I needed to know to get through a
course. Other trickier things are usually not needed for exams, so you
can look stuff up when you are rusty. Mostly you need to understand what
you are doing conceptually.
