Thanks a heap. That's just what I needed to hear this morning. Meanwhile, I have a feeling this is the lower-pitched knock-off version of the original, since I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have hearing anymore in the original "teen repellent" range, but this is loud and obnoxious. OK, so if this is the source:

Then it's only a 14 KHz tone.  You want well over 20 KHz for this kind
of thing to show good age discrimination, and *man* would that be
completely obnoxious.  It also wouldn't reproduce that well in most of
the speakers people are playing it on, and wouldn't be a useful
ringtone.  I'd do harmonic analysis on this one if I had time, but I
don't today.
