We have tested it in our office and our interns can hear it and it
freaks them out. Figured you might want to test this out on your
favorite "Youngin".
Here is a story about it:

Interesting. I am 48 years old and I can hear a very high pitched sound.
It is very annoying. It sounds almost exactly the sound that is sometimes
emitted by a floor lamp in my house. The lamp bothers my wife more than
it bothers me and she is 11.5 years younger than I am. Sensitivity may
drop off with age, but believe me, I can still hear it.
There is probably a volume level that I could live with but it would drive
my 14-year-old son out of the house. I'll test that theory next time he
visits me. ;-)
