Another vote for embedded identification chips inserted into every person at birth!

Interestingly enough that is actually a new fad where I am working. A number of our technicians are having chips embedded in their hands, why I don't know yet, but they are having it done. One of the guys brought the chips to work today and was showing them around.

We did it to our dog about 8 years ago. It would work great if the dog was lost and the person who found the dog had a way to read the data from the chip. I guess if a dog gets sent to the pound or human society, the chip gets read. If a human has a chip embedded in his hand, will anyone know? Maybe he also needs a tatto pointing at it with the words "Chip Embedded Here." Or maybe we should just have bar codes tatooed on our backs.
