I see what you are saying, but apparently the pokking did not work
this time. Something changed.

Look, you democrats cannot have it both ways. On the one hand I have
heard people say this is the bubliest administration ever, and that
Bush and crew are stupid, yet there are all of these conspiracy
theories out there that they are stealing elections.

The problem here is you cannot blame Bush for the winning the 2004
election. You can claim there was voter fraud in some places and even
go out and prove it in some precincts. If you can prove it, then you
prosecute. Apparently it is very hard to prove since all the democrats
can do is complain about it.

The electoral college is an undemocratic piece of crock that should be jettisoned like lots of other things we've gotten rid of since the 18th century. I mean, why does everybody have this love affair with the electoral college as some noble institution but yet nobody ever regrets passing the ammendment that allowed the direct election of senators? I mean, it's exactly the same kind of thing.

How is it the same thing? I can see how they are both about state
representation, but that is where the similiarities end. I can't
believe that anyone would want a situation where New York and
California residents pick our president year after year. That is not
appealing to me. It is unfortunate that sometimes a president does not
win by the popular vote.

I am not sure it is fair to call you intellectually dishonest, but I
get the feeling from many democrats the only reason they want to
repeal the electorial college is because they are angry about the 2000
election results. I never heard the call for repealing it when Clinton
won, twice. I am sure this argument will go by the wayside once again
if a democrat wins in 2008.
