I read the other day that only 29% in Missouri approved of Bush's job, but
maybe that was incorrect. Anway, that answers your question: I thought
Missourians would prefer Gore to Bush because only 29% now approve of
Bush, according to one source. At the time of the 2000 election, Bush
took 51% of the Missouri vote and Gore took 47%:
Here is an example of why the poll you sent out is questionable at best:

He lost 24% of his support from April-May? What did he do to have that
big of a drop in support since for the last year it had been neck and
neck in mid-missouri?
I'm trying not to laugh, Jerry. You are telling me that my numbers were
bad, and you are showing me more numbers, but they agree with mine, and
you are concluding that all of the numbers are bad. You have no
explanation.
It's pretty simple: People who like Bush are mostly morons, and when gas
prices went through the roof, they blamed Bush.
Katrina hurt Bush, the continuing war in Iraq has hurt, the corruption and
scandals are hurting, but the biggest thing, I think, is the price of
gasoline. Ironic because Bush really might not be to blame for that!
