It was supposed to be accurate. Whether it was flattering would depend on
what you believe.
Unfortunately, most of my beliefs in politics are not religiously motivated.
I am pro-choice, not exactly a religious position
I am against the death penalty, I am a little unsure about whether
this is a religious view or not. I know how the death penalty is
balanced in many people's religious views though.
I don't like governmental social programs as I feel that it creates a
class of citizen beholden to government. I think it removes hope, it
incites depression and is generally counter productive.
I don't believe we should use government to promote a religion, but I
also do not believe the populace has a right FROM religion, nor do
they have a right to never be offended. I think this government, even
with the first amendment in place, was founded on Christian principles
and the attempt to remove those principles from government is an
attempt to rewrite history and in effect, rewrite our constitution.
The ramifications of which are just now starting to be felt.
I believe the world is probably heating up, I am not convinced the
cause is man made, nor am I convinced that these so-called models that
are run are accurate.
I believe rabid environmentalism is a religion that should be
controlled in the same way Christianity is. Especially with all the
"Spriritual Mother Earth Tree Hugger Drum People" I deal with
everyday.
I believe that every person has the ability to make tons of money if
they make the right decisions. I believe that people should not be
held down in their effort to make tons of money and the more
Government gets out of the way, the better for this environment.
I believe teachers have a responsibility to teach the facts, and not
their personal opionions. I am a product of teachers who did that very
thing and I hate that I was essentially lied to when I was a kid (I
had one teacher actually teach the entire class that women have no
sweat glands in 10th grade biology.)
I believe man did evolve from a creature that resembled an ape, but
that creature was distinctly not the apes of today and any relation
between the two is as coincedental as man's relationship with a
rabbit.
I do not belive that the race of man started with Adam and Eve, I do
believe that Adam and Eve are the first of God's children and through
that line we get our modern society, such as it is.
And finally, I believe the basic tenants of almost every society in
the world is somewhat driven by religion. Even when we try and remove
religion from everything in the world, the simple belief of right and
wrong is a religiously based belief. So in that way, every person is
religious to some extent. If you believe that it is wrong to kill,
steal, and lie, then you are religious in some fashion. Even if you
cannot admit it, for those basic belief ideas are what seperates us
from animals.
