I also hear that for many mathematicians, they do their very best work at a young age. As we get older, we know more, but we seem less able to do surprisingly original things in areas like math and physics.
As you get older you just get tired. Life really wears you down, you become busy, your brain slows down, etc. It really sucks. It makes me want to kill myself before I hit 30. I'm already a dim flicker to how bright I was at 17. The two main evils of the world seem to have been bills and women and yes, those two things did seem to be twined. For you young geeks - get a shitty cheap apartment somewhere and do your work there 24 hours a day and completely ignore women and sex if you want to be brilliant.
