I'm coming in way late in whatever conversation this is, but I saw the 
Yaris mentioned.

We had a brand new Yaris as our car for 5 weeks in Ireland 3yrs ago, and I wanted 
to bring the thing back with me on the plane.  I hate small cars and I 
LOVED the yaris.  It was zippy and sporty and FUN.  The cabin was well 
laid out and was surprisingly quiet.  It got great gas (ahem, petrol) 
mileage (ahem kilometerage).

Great great great car.   I just saw adverts for the first time on tv 
this week and I about flipped through the roof.

Funny thing about all rentals in Ireland, the hubcaps are on with 
zipties....    funnier still is that there are hubcaps in every ditch in 
Ireland.  I got out once to look for some particular bits of nature and 
left a pile if 9 hubcaps on the side of the road from the ditch.  I left 
similar piles all over Ireland. *grin*  Ours kept coming loose too and 
eventually, we just popped all the zipties with a knife and put the caps 
in the boot so we'd still have them at the end of the rental *grin*.

If I could get one shipped over from Ireland with stuff on the 'wrong' 
side, for near the price of one over here, I'd do it in a heartbeat (if 
there were no other hassles and such).

What a great car that was.
