I know one person who has this car and loves it to death. But, as best as I understand it, you're getting a Toyota Echo with a slightly snazzier trim level. This isn't necessarily bad, of course...

I can't show you the email I get from students for obvious reasons, but the #1 cause of missing midterms and finals in the last two years is apparently having your Kia whatever break down. :-)

>> 2000 Honda Civic - 2Dr $87.90 (price 10,950)
>> 2003 Honda Civic - 4Dr $80.74 (price 13,995)

Obvious safe choices.

>> 2002 VW Jetta GL $75.89 (PRice 12.950)

That would be fun, but I don't believe this is an especially reliable car.

>> 2005 Dodge Stratus $101.56 (Price 12,950

I was flipping through the Consumer Reports car issue for a minute yesterday, and saw that this car was just about #1 on the list of cars that people would be least likely to buy again. That could be for many reasons, but it makes the price sound high to me.

I'd go for the Yaris. Have you thought about the Honda Fit, too?

Neither have been tested by IIHS, but the Euro NCAP test procedure is
pretty well the same. The Fit is the Jazz in other markets.

I'd never heard of the Yaris, but I guess it's brand new. Some people
in our family didn't really like Toyotas, but that person wasn't me. We're not likely to be buying a second car soon, but if I did, a cheap
Toyota would be my strategy, I think. The only other small cars I'd
go for are the Subaru Impreza (now with an engine greater than 105 HP)
and the Mazda 3, which was a real blast on a test drive.

Obviously your boyfriend has better taste in women than in cars. :-)
