I have not read his book per se, but there have been a lot of
proponents for a flat tax out there. One was Steve Forbes back a few
years ago when Perot was running for President.

I would agree with a true flat tax. Of course a flat tax of 14 or 20%
would be considered a hardship for the poor in the country. At least
that is what killed it when Forbes was running for it.

A consumption tax would be good, but then again the poor in the
country would get hit harder.

Of course this is what the politicians tend to say. For me, I think
many of them are in the pockets of teh lawyers and tax preparation
lobby. How much money does HR Block make every tax year?
