i'm building a linux based firewall using a travla 15" deep 1u
rackmount box and a via mainboard....i considered using a cf card for
the os. but, went with a 80 gig drive so i could run squid proxying
without worry of space.
cf cards are great for building custom thin-clients or firewalls. i
also had this crazy idea of building a small cluster using the via
mainboards and cf cards for the nodes. then just building a nas for
storage. travla has a 1u rackmount that holds 2 via boards. you can
get two nodes in a single case.
:)
