Or a development geek?  Maybe, but maybe not.  There's lots of
important jargon in the field I don't know yet.  I think I have the
level of fascination thing down, though.  Ever since I've lived in
five very different places I've been curious about why you get this
rather than that as an area develops.  This has all kinds of important
corollaries like "can Columbia continue to grow and prosper looking
much the same way as it does now, or what changes will occur?"  (The
answer: it can continue like this for a surprisingly long time, but at
some point, if the place remains desirable, the pattern will change,
possibly quite abruptly.)
