I don't work there anymore (I started my own business), but maybe I
can answer your question.

The MPEG formats are lousy for editing. To edit, you should get the
film transferred to a "DV" format like miniDV (or digital8). Then all
you need is a miniDV camcorder and firewire cable to get the video
into the computer to edit. You could probably borrow the camcorder
from somebody; you'll only need it for a couple fo hours.

If you are talking about 8mm videotape, you could play the tape in a
digital8 camcorder, and again, use firewire to get the video into the
computer. If you are talking about 8mm film, you need a place like
Home Movie Depot to put it onto the miniDV tape.

For more detailed answers, you should talk to Home Movie Depot
directly. (657-0612)
