Yeah, I ran across this last year when I downloaded some old radio
schematics. I was annoyed at a new format at first, but after using
it, I was rather impressed. It's made specifically for scanned text.
It also helps that an open-source viewer was already in my yum
repositories, so install was just "yum install djvulibre".
I don't know if the format will lead to more information being placed
online, however. I would guess the labor is the most expensive part
of the scanning operation. But a fivefold improvement in coding
efficiency is quite an advance.
