I assume that MacOS X is set up to discourage users from running always
with root permissions. That's an important protection against having
these "viruses" take over the system. A user can still do plenty of nasty
things though.
Computers are getting really powerful and the average guy has a pretty
darned fast network connection these days. Security had better keep up or
we're going to be having some huge hassles in coming years.
