They claim that the companies they sell their imprinter device to go through a rigorous application process to guarantee they're legitimate organizations. But they stop short of saying what that process is.


I think the important thing is not that they are "legitimate" in some sense, but that they are *paying*. When it costs money to send a message, they won't send it unless they think there is some chance it will be of interest to the recipient. With free email, a company might decide to send 1,000,000 messages because they think they might get 5 replies, but if it cost them $0.001 to send each message, they'd be paying $200 per reply which might not be worth it.

My guess is that "legitimate organization" means the same thing as "paying customer."
