This concept was another hard thing for me to accept. I don't know
where I got this notion, perhaps it was the military, but I had this
notion that school would be an instructor standing up front of the
class and explaining the subject matter. When I started college it was
a hard transition because my instructors were like "Read Chapters 1 -
100 gazillion and be prepared for a test on all subject material"
They would then go sit down and that was the end of it. If someone had
a question from the material, they would "attempt" to answer it, but
most of the time, they would fail miserably. That is what lead me to
online learning, since I was learning the stuff on my own, I decided I
might as well do it on my own time.
