Don't try to alter my argument to fit your prejudices, please. I am
saying that the article shouldn't falsely claim that no other
theories for the very existence of life exists. I am not necessarily
saying it should specifically name every theory, but that a mention
should probably be made for the major competing theories. How about
we say it should mention theories with more than a few hundred
million supporters?
By this argument, the world would still be flat, though?
How so? I don't follow you here.
Also using this argument, the Flying Spaghetti Monster gains validity.
I disagree as the FSM is a parody. I don't know of any individual who
sincerely supports it as the origin of life, though millions to
reference it in a satirical fashion.
My point is that you appear to be validating your argument using shear
number of supporters in the "a billion Chinese can't be wrong"
perspective. At one point in our history, the majority of those living
in recorded society believed, without doubt, that the world was flat.
Was this anymore valid because everyone believed it?
And, while the FSM is a parody, how is it any more far reaching than the
supposition in an omnipotent deity that no one can find physical
evidence for?
