I would absolutely love a website that clearly stated the national origins of all the CRAP musical instruments that glut our market and ebay from Pakistan, North Africa, etc.

These are horrible instruments that on first glance look well made, so you bust your budget on the instrument you've always wanted.. hammered dulcimer, Irish flute, great highland bagpipes, uilleann pipes, dumbek, djembe, etc... It sure looks legit... only to get it and find it unplayable, unreturnable, unfixable, and that your dream for years of picking up this or that instrument is over because the bank is broken.

On every musical message board/group I'm on, this is a depressing and terribly common tale.

What a great idea Scott.

The original offender in this category is Mid-East Manufacturing. http://www.mid-east.com/ and since, many duplicates of the original have glutted the market.

Is anyone familiar with any corporate citizenship websites? I've seen
plenty of consumer information websites relating to product quality and
customer service, but I've yet to find a website that details a company's
corporate citizenship. I'm considering building/hosting such a beast, but
did not want to duplicate an effort this is already underway.
