I must admit that I hadn't realized how low-power this stuff was (the
story claims 1/100 of an equivalent LCD). In the near term, that plus
the extreme thinness might be far more important than the fact that
you can roll these up. A notebook with all Flash for its "disk", a
low power processor and an electronic paper display could probably
have a battery life easily 10 times and possibly 50 times what a
conventional notebook these days. That means you could even hit the
magical 1 pound limit of what people are willing to carry around with
them all the time, and you could do it inside of 10 years.
So I guess I'm pretty optimistic again...for a Monday.
