He doesn't think NO is one of our top historic cities, so I think he should name at least 10 US cities of greater historic significance.

Off the top of my head: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Richmond, Charlottesville, St.Augustine, Williamsburg/Jamestown, Charleston, Plymouth.

Do you want more or are you going to pick apart this list? Because I have more I could add.

Huh? Plymouth is hardly a city. It has a replica of the Mayflower, a rock with "1620" on it and a few shops and museums. Nearby you get Plymouth Plantation with some reenactors. Now that's a city (town really) that could be rebuilt anywhere in that region.

Richmond -- what? I recall Patrick Henry house was across the street from my hotel on one visit but I didn't even bother with it. It's not a bad place but the best things I did there were (1) saw the Faberge egg collection in their museum, which was a very impressive collection, and (2) had dinner at a nice Cuban restaurant. Not a bad place, but nothing, *nothing* compared to New Orleans. I can hardly imagine how you came up with this one.

Charlottesville? Again boggling the mind, but I haven't been there so I'll shut up.

I liked Charleston but didn't spend much time there. Again, if you were to ask people which city they'd rather save -- N.O. or Charleston, I'm sure they'd go 10 to 1 in favor of saving N.O.

You are entitled to your opinion, and that's all this is, but your ideas are way out of step with the way most people see these cities.
