I think a lot of this depends on what action you want Bush to take.
Bush has said he is interested in environmental causes, but what do he
need to do to convince you of this?
If signing the Kyoto treaty is what he has to do, well Bush has
recently come out about his stand on the Kyoto treaty and I agree with
him.
First, The Kyoto treaty in Bush's opinion creates a increased hardship
on the American economy, when you consider that China was excluded
from having to agree to the same conditions as the US but is the
second largest polluter of the nations involved in the treaty, I think
his stand is a valid one.
China has since signed on to Kyoto as a full member nation, so his
argument here is now a little thing, but that is not the only
argument.
Another argument is there is simply no enforcement of Kyoto. If a
nation pollutes more than what they are allowed, what is the
ramification of this? Nothing. It is only a suggestion. Many of the
nations do not even have a plan on how to cut back.
Mark my words though, if the US was to ratify Kyoto and we did not cut
back our pollution we would again be attacked from all over the world
as being the evil Americans.
So what else would Bush have to do to help in the area of Global
Warming for you? I have some ideas of what I would do, and I do not
expect Bush to do anything with them.
Your statement about Global Warming being a fact is still not fact.
Computer models have been saying it is, but I still maintain that we
do not have enough information to know whether it is being caused by
what people are doing, the expansion of space flight, or the decline
in the number of pirates in the world. All can be shown to have a
correlation with global warming.
