Try a toddler plus two puppies. The thing is that my wife didn't
realize she was pregnant at the time and felt the overwhelming desire to
mother another creature. Thus, one day, we ended up with two puppies.

Yup. Seems like people would be more prone to donate them just before
this as they seem to reach peak annoyance around the 4-5 month mark
