I agree until the author gets down to blaming Republicans. IMO both
political parties are equally to blame for the current situation and I
don't see the situation getting any better since such a large proportion
of those in government are themselves wealthy and willing to take
direction from the wealthy to help them set policy. The government is no
longer of the people and for the people which is really the end of
America is we believe it to be in our hearts. Is there any hope of
changing the direction our country is going short of revolution? Yes!
What put the wealthy into so much power was control of the media and the
media is becoming less centralized and less bought and paid for thanks
to the Internet and tech such as Tivo. Different forces are at play
among young people than have been factors in how their parents voted so
as those young people come of voting age and begin to form a mature
culture of their own the people may actually get control of their
government back again. Want to be President some day? Start blogging now.
