you can get a 15" deep rackmount box at caseoutlet for half the cost
of a pix. we have a pix515e and not only was it ~2K initial cost, but
it's ~520 a year to renew the license/warranty/service.

a itx box is ~600 depending on config.

sure, someone's got to put it together and install linux. but a pix
will need to be configured and managed anyway...in the end, the
upfront and yearly savings are well worth the couple of extra hours
install/config time, imo.
