[MLUG - DISCUSSION] OT: movie reviews.. Miss Congeniality 2 and Guess Who

*Went to see a couple movies over the weekend..

Miss Congeniality 2 was okay but not great. Worth seeing if you've seen 
everything else on your list but definately not an A-list movie. Pretty 
fair for a sequel. Appropiate for taking the whole family to. Little 
girls I saw leaving the theature seemed to have liked it a lot.

Guess Who was really funny and was surprisingly well done. Definately 
worth seeing and a great date movie. While the movie is about the issue 
of interracial marriages the race issue doesn't play a huge role in the 
dynamic of this movie. The real energy is in the interaction between the 
boyfriend and the father-in-law to be. These two really played well off 
of each other. At the same time it managed to include a pretty good 
romance film with the relationships between both the daughter and 
boyfriend and between the mother and father. This movie did a great job 
at covering some important racial and family issues without lossing it's 
focus on being a good movie.
