It must have been a long time since you were here. They've had penny
slots for at least the five years or so I've been aware of them. A lot
of them you can pick how much you want to bet by changing the value of a
credit and then betting multiple credits on mulitple lines.
I'm not any good at slots (nor do I really want to be) but they are
probably one of your best bets in Vegas because many do have a 99%
payback rate. A lot of places even lose money at slots because they
assume it'll lead you to betting at more expensive games and to spending
money in the casino. The key, I've read, to winning at slots is to
always bet the max bet and to keep playing. Over time you'll often make
a profit especially if you play the machines that have a 100% or better
payback. I don't really mind some of the penny slots. The Dilbert one
was fun to play just to see the little animated comic strips. I figure
for the dollar I put in that a 10 minute game with lil animated cartoons
isn't an unreasonable price.
I'd be more interested in playing games that require you to think to win
but since doing so can get you banned from the casinos I haven't
bothered. I don't like playing games where I have to interact with other
people anyway so that pretty much eliminates most of the high dollar
games for me. Being anti-social and cheap has saved me a lot of money
since moving here.
If only playing ski ball at the casinos could earn points towards free
meals like playing the slot machines. Darn them for ignoring that adults
like arcades too! Mostly I cash checks at the casinos (you earn points
towards free meals, win prizes, etc), eat there, and go to the movie
there. I never really gamble there. I'd really like them better if they
got rid of most of the gambling. Without the gambling they'd be like
their own little cities. One near me you can actually live at - they
have both the hotel and condos on site. They have shops and a business
park and resturants. All they're really missing is a Walmart. Of course
they can hold more people than a lot of cities in Missouri so it
shouldn't be long until they have a Walmart. ;)
