Here in Las Vegas coyotes come right up to busy areas. A cop I was
chatting with as my apartment building burned told me that they had
recently had a call from a woman who was walking her dog along a major
street and had a coyote run up and snatch the dog right in front of her.
The woman brilliantly was calling the cops to make them go get it back.
Obviously it was way to late for that.
