So I guess it's probably not a huge surprise, but I'm pretty sure I
saw a coyote trotting along the back of a neighbor's yard early
yesterday morning. It was at a fair distance, so I might be mistaken,
but I don't know of any busy-tailed dogs of that size in our
neighborhood who could use that coyote-like gait. I asked my wife,
and she pointed out that she'd seen a dead coyote along Forum Blvd.
near the Katy trial a few years back. My concern with this is only
that we have one cat who likes to spend a lot of time outdoors, and,
back in Southern California, the fate of 90% of all missing cats was
in fact becoming coyote snack food. Lil is a very tough and really
smart cat, but coyotes are, too.
So are coyotes beginning to come into your better suburbs around here?
Do they display a cat-slaying phenotype?
