Interesting.  Gmail never crashes on a Mac.  Sometimes, under Firefox
especially, it gets confused in mid-refresh, but refreshing again
solves the issue.

Actually, I had thought that gmail didn't depend on Java at all, only
Javascript?  But I just looked at the source, and I see it does try to
sniff out MS systems and stuff having to do with ActiveX.  Surely
you're not using Explorer, are you? :-)
