Here's some info:

My best effort at a summary: Apple iTunes files are actually "m4p" files
which seem to be DRM-protected, encrypted m4a files, and m4a files are
also known as mp4 files. There are programs that allow you to convert the
m4p to mp4 without any loss...
http://www.google.com/search?q=m4p2mp4
...and mp4 will play in many programs.
