[MLUG - DISCUSSION] Keyloggers?

Hey Guys-

I was approached by a co-worker whose son (middle school aged) is hard
and heavy into the chat rooms with his other school friends...  He is
concerned about the chats that are going on and wanted to check the
logs...  Well, the son is good enough to clean up after himself and has
just left a few tidbits here and there that sparked the father's
interest... Apparently some very questionable content about his son's
after school activities...

So, what are everyone's thoughts on key loggers...?  Do I dare suggest
one...? What are the best ones out there? Has anyone had problems b/c of
a key logger?
