I can certainly recommend The Shins, especially their freshman effort
Oh, Inverted World. I've also heard good things about Death Cab for
Cutie, but haven't listened myself. Amazon has worked reasonably well
in the recommendation function, but I've been leary since they turned
my Radiohead/REM fixation into a recommendation for the Beta Band
(ear-plug bad). One band they recommended that I really liked was Last
Amanda and their debut self-titled album.
