True, that is part of the theory behind having my website with articles
and code on it too. I've had several employers tell me that looking at
my experience there really made a difference. I strongly advise that
everyone have such a website which they list on their resume. Write some
good code for real world projects and put it where people can see it.
Offer useful tips that show you know how to do your job. Things like
that. Although published by some reputable third party definately sounds
better as a one liner on your resume. I shamelessly added my brief
mention in Linux Journal last summer to my resume for the same reason. ;)
