Has anyone thought of low profile Kevlar jackets? I mean there are a
lot of goof balls out there, and if it is an open forum that would be
easy to get into, and he is on stage and thus an easy target, put two
and two together, the secret service will take any advantage that they
can get to stop a bullet...

http://www.segnow.com/Catalog/Chap_10/page16.htm (take a look at the
straps that are on the behind shots and then look at the angle the
president is at... the straps line up...)

Also why use a backpack transponder when you can transmit to a "hidden"
in-ear receiver... Two way communication is already there... Just tune
your radio to NPR listen for the receive... speak when you want to
transmit could be done from miles away if you had the proper equipment...

Receivers can be made TINY... Transmitters on the other hand are very
difficult to make small...

But, then again... I am a fool for conspiracy theories and everyone
has posted great ideas :) My two pennies...
