Thanks! I guess that's the first answer I received to my question about
the popularity of Bush or Kerry in foreign nations. I'll bet Bush does
even worse in western Europe.
I don't think the popular media has "a liberal slant" and I would not say
that we have established that. There has been research on this topic and
it shows that people confronted with a news article will find it to be
biased against themselves - a conservative reader sees a "liberal bias"
and liberal reader sees a "conservative bias." Altogether, there may be
no bias at all. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Here's some
research:

Here's a book:

When I look at this page....
http://www.mediaresearch.org/
...I see very biased complaints -- I could give a similar list of the ways
reporters have seemed biased against Kerry and for Bush. It's easy for me
to see those things in the news because they strike a raw nerve. It's not
so easy for a Bush supporter to see such things because they just seem
right to them.
In other words, people watching the news see it as unbiased if it is
showing the world to them in the way they see it - if it matches their
belief system. If the news departs from the viewers perspective, they
will see the news as slanted. The way I see it, we have ordinary news,
and we have extreme right wing, intentionally biased, politically-
motivated, often-deceitful crap (as on Fox News - Hannity, O'Reilly,
Coulter, etc.). Where is the biased liberal news? There is none! If you
don't think the conservatives just named are lying to you, read this book:

Oh, wait, maybe you've been told by one of your unbiased news sources that
the book should not to be read. Try to break away from that and read it
anyway.
Mike
