I'm sorry, but I do not see where you are getting this. Right now,
the Right Wing controls the Presidency, the Senate, the House, and the
Supreme Court. Also a majority of state governors and state
legislatures. If you control the political process, you are the
establishment. This does not mean, of course, that everybody agrees
with the establishment at all times (obviously, it never has).
Respect is an interesting question, too. Zell Miller essentially told
me 2 nights ago that opposing the president's every wish or dissenting
from the Republican majority view was, at this moment, essentially
treason. This shows, I think, a lack of respect. I also think that
Zells' comments, as a keynote speaker at the RNC, are most clearly
contrasted with Obama's seen last month at the DNC. Which was the
more respectful approach?
I could go on, but it's a school day. I think there is a battle going
on here, but I also think it's within the Republican Party. If Bush
wins this November, we can be fairly sure who won.
