I've been overseas and been exposed to the reason that the citizen of
several countries have abysmal opinions of Americans. We're arrogant
know-it-alls who really don't know much but throw lots of money at
whatever problems we have. Eventually we're going to run out of money
and realize there may be things we don't know.

Well given that technology has made (and is continuing to make) the
world smaller and smaller, an isolationist attitude will eventually come
back and bite us in the a$$ big time. While I don't anticipate lots of
French laughter in 10 years I can see the Germans, Russians, etc. having
a seriously good laugh if we continue down this path.
But then we don't care. We'll see how we care when we need something
from them.
