Right around the time when "ebay it" became an expression you would
actually hear (or read), I thought to myself, "So what happens to
people who are not savvy enough to sell stuff on eBay?" Well, most of
them *are* savvy enough to drop things off at Goodwill, so I thought
about a place where you could drop stuff off, sort of like you do at
your favored thrift/charity outfit, only to sell on eBay. Then, if it
sold, the place would cut you a check. If it didn't sell, you could
pick the item up or let the store dump it off at (say) Goodwill and
give you a receipt for what the presumed value was.
Well, somebody has actually done this:

Only they were even smarter than me, realizing that the *real* money
was in franchising the concept to people in markets they are too lazy
to do themselves. All I can say is: Crud! I had this very idea. :-(
