A large percentage of DVD players are happy playing PAL.
The probelm is region coding. Australia DVDs are region 4 and US discs
are region 1. So you will need a multi-region player. Those who sign
contracts with the DVD cartel^Wconsortium are not supposed to make these
players available. But you can find them. Ask any serious anime fan.
Oh, and Mexico/Latin America are also region 4, if it helps any. Pick
up a DVD player on your next visit!
