While I strongly agree with making this statement, I also agree with
the no watch comment.
About 6 or 7 years ago, I stopped and counted. I had 2 phones, 2
pagers, 4 computers on my desk, and my desk phone had a clock. I
questioned how many conflicting time sources I really needed. So I
took my watch off and haven't put it back on since.
There are better ways to display your badge of geek with pride.
Have your geek code tattooed on your forehead, put your gpg key on an
rfid tag and insert it in your wrist, use it to authenticate yourself
to the front door of your house. DON'T walk around with a headset on
talking on your cell phone. Use that great geek imagination. I
wouldn't bother with a watch.
