I feel that way sometimes. I replied to the poker email, hoping to get a new
face to join our table and never heard a reply back.
:)
I do have a Linux question, though...does anyone know of the best-or most
compatible really-PCMCIA wireless card for Linux? I have a Thinkpad 600X
running Archlinux 0.6 (Kernel 2.6) and I want to use it on my wifi network at
home. Unfortunately, every card I buy doesn't seem to work in Linux.
Through exhausting searches online I discovered that the DWL-G650 D-Link card
(revision B4) isn't supported under Linux. Scrap that one. So, I pick up a
Linksys WPC11 V.4 a few days ago, and to my (non)surprise that revision and
chipset also dislikes Linux.
I tried using NDISWRAPPER and installing the XP drivers for it...but it
didn't seem to work right. Iwconfig said it found the network, but DHCP
never assigned it an address. I tried a few other things to no avail.
Is there a wireless card that just sort of "works" out of the box? I don't
have any problems with my Netgear FA511 nic. It works without anything
special from me-other than setting up DHCP or static addresses.
At this point, I'm willing to pay just about anything to get a new card that
works. Or, go back to Windows XP on the notebook so I can use it downstairs.
I'm also buying a brand new notebook in the next couple of months...will this
be an ongoing problem with its internal wifi?
I'm going to end up just sticking with Linux on my servers and running my
network and using XP for workstations.

Are my messages not getting to the list, or are people just not
responding to them? :-D
Or maybe by now everyone's just got me k-lined... ;)
