Taking the birth control pill while pregnant mainly leads to birth defects.  The effectivness of the pill is only as effective as the person who uses it and the rate is still only about 98% i believe. I knew a few women who got pregnant even while on the pill, taking it every day, same time.  But I think that male family was extremely potent in their fertility.
