One thing about abortion.

I think there is a problem with the thinking in this regard. I have heard of
people who have been in accidents with pregnant women. Some of these women,
while not terribly damaged themselves have lost the baby in these accidents.

As long as there is abortion where someone can end the life claiming that it
is not "really a living thing" then how can we as a society have a double
standard that in the above cases a women that loses a child in an accident
can claim damages?

You see that to me is troublesome. If we want to say that life begins at
conception, then fine, collect damages, if we want to say that life does not
begin until birth at in the third trimester, then no, women should not be
able to claim damages on the death of a fetus.

The same thing could be said about women who smoke, drink, or do drugs while
pregnant. If the fetus is not a living thing, then we cannot hold the woman
responsible for anything she does that causes the death of the fetus.

This is my opinion, to me things are just this black and white.

Thanks - informative! It appears I could be wrong - depending on the woman.
I
guess there is also debate about when conception occurs. Hrm
