I got my current car (a Subaru WRX) from University Chrysler. I did the
research, knew invoice, knew about kickbacks and volume discounts. I
priced things out but had forgotten my notes when I sat down with my
salesperson. I thought that the numbers to start negotiating were 2-4%
above invoice when in fact the Consumer Reports stuff I had said 6-8% so
I gave him a 3% above invoice offer and they jumped on it. I haven't
been back to do any of my services there and haven't seen the
salesperson since then but I could tell after talking to him several
times that he wasn't a rocket surgeon so I didn't really expect much.
And you know that Subarus have an excellent maintenance and reliability
rating so it's not surprising that I've had no problems to go back with
yet (it's only about a year old).

Years ago when I bought my Nissan Sentra from Perry Nissan they treated
me wonderfully until my sales guy left to work in St. Louis. Then they
didn't remember my name or anything and service dropped to abysmal.
